ITS Infrastructure Administrator

Educational Requirements

University graduate in Computer Science, MIS or any IT related field; Equivalent work experience pertaining to Server Administration, Storage Administration, or Network Administration may be acceptable.

Qualifications

Qualifications for this position include:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting Server Administration, Storage Administration, or Network Administration.
  • Knowledge of one or more specialized areas of IT such as Server Administration, Storage Administration, or Network Administration
  • Experience with Project Management.Ability to manage projects as well as be a resource for projects.
  • Advanced Troubleshooting skills in a multi-user high pressure environment
  • Understanding of networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP, Email, HTTP, SSL, OSI Model, and TCP/IP protocols and applications
  • Experience with Data Cabling / Computer Facilities maintenance
  • Communication skills (written and verbal English and Portuguese is a must). Ability to work well with people and assess each customer’s individual needs. Need to be able to communicate with people and businesses outside of the organization and company, which may include business stakeholders, vendors, and service providers.
  • Strong customer service ethos with experience in providing IT support.
  • Excellent organizational skills including accurate records keeping and proper documentation.
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task, follow processes, and policies (including environmental & safety), and act as a contributing member of a team environment.

Responsibilities

Position responsibilities will include:

  • Project Manager for ITS Infrastructure projects in Mozambique
  • Support changes to the network, server, and storage environments
  • Oversee adds and changes to data cabling
  • Provide systems administration support for a variety of software and hardware environments
  • Provide telecom/PBX administration support
  • Mentor Customer Support Analysts
  • Participate in root cause analysis and support problem solving
